Recently my mind has been drawn to more minimal and harmonic forms. It has affected me in all areas; from the way I dress to experiments with illustration. I really like playing around with geometrical forms. Bits of figures, bite the lip.

Release.

A project brief that turned into personal illustration. This is a theme of RELEASE in terms of prison; I thought of personal release, that I can acquire through music. It gives me freedom of feelings and heavy emotions. Mostly I create music while being inspired by someone - the person, who can stroke the right note in my heart. Afterwards while creating music I feel this release from burdens.

Slick Licks | Rankin

From January to March 2013 I was interning at Fashion Department of Hunger Magazine. This is a London-based prestigous fashion magazine created by Rankin (photographer, creator of Dazed&Confused).

Being among him and his dedicated team gave me a lot of valuable experience into behind the scenes of Fashion Magazine world, how photoshoots with celebrieties are created and how the master himself works.

I was hugely inspired by the time there but very busy and among other projects I hardly had any time for personal illustrations. I plan to create a series of illustrations based on Rankin's photographs. Here is the first collage based on the photoshoot "Slick Licks" from S Magazine (Rankin issue) 2012.

Sketches - welcome 2013

Hope you had a great enterance to 2013 - mine definitely was! Not only thanks to memorable NYE but also to the start of my internship at Rankin's "Hunger Magazine" (London). The work at the studio is very busy but I do draw a lot. I have been practising my fast drawing style, as the life started to speed up even more. Here are some outcomes.

The World Goes ON.

 

Against the Mayan prophecy the world keeps going. This is propably my last illustration of 2012 - a dynamic year full of progress and new experience. I wish you all a peaceful Christmas and hopefully the 2013 will bring us all new interesting ventures!

Movember portrait via Gallery of Mo

Two weeks ago I had a great oppurtunity to attend a live drawing event via Gallery of Mo on the official Movember and Sons launch party in the heart of London. It was a lot of fun drawing quick portaits of participants of the party.

Here's an illustration commisioned by Chris, who donated to Gallery of Mo and ordered a portait done by me. I hope you enjoy it as much as he did!

Dash Magazine feature - issue 2 / September'12

I was commissioned in a new, growing fashion platform which is Dash Magazine. The second issue was launched in September. London based magazine is a beautiful, fresh offer filled with illustrations, involving prestigous artists like David Downton or Spiros Halaris. I am very happy to be featured among them.

The illustration conveys the aspects of catwalk, the arrangments of who is seated in front rows. It is based on the iterview with Dovie Mamikunian.

Another bad dream

Guise Magazine

Oooh la la! I haven't been here for a long while! However the explanation is quite simple... I was enjoying my holidays and then another new internship at Lamis Khamis where I was designing a new t-shirt menswear collection.

In the meantime I also became an illustrator at Guise Magazine - an upcoming fresh title about costume design. Here are the works that will appear in the first issue. A portrait of Joey Attawia - costume film designer and a few illustrations reflecting famous designs in movies: Grease, Red Shoes and Clueless (coming soon!).
