Fendi S/S 2012

An illustration of a model from Fendi catwalk from Spring/Summer collection for 2012. I loved the geometrical shapes of the clothing, especially the white collar. I also found the patterns of the shirt and skirt really interesting, which gave it a bit retro look. The whole outfit is a great mix of elegance and eclectic feeling - I love it!

Looking forward to seeing simmilar designs in 2012 in cheaper stores ;) Happy new year 2012 - let it be fashionable, artistic and chic!

I need to cuddle.

Finally I had time to finish an illustration I started working on back in October. Christmas is a good time to relax and then my mind and creativity work smoothly and no pressure is involved...

Orchid project - T-shirt

Since last year there has been ran a competition for Fashion Illustration students at LCF for Orchid - the campaign promoting the testicle cancer awarness. A student has to create a T-shirt which will will be sold at House of Fraser in London, if it wins. Here is my entry - a bit provocative, but why not giving a chance. An illustration of a guy after a paintball game - wearing goggles in a blue color of Orchid's logo. A game of words in paintBALLS and not to get hit by one of them - which of course is the symbol for cancer. I hope it makes sense... and please wish me luck! :)

Warsaw

Lyrics to my newst song, dedicated to the city I love and miss. Here you can listen to it.

1) Some people might despise you
I fell in love at first sight
Some people might put doubts on you
To me you're bold and true
You might not be the New York City
you might not be the centre of the world, but you are

Chorus:
Warsaw, oh oh
you're the city that inspires
breaking through the fires
Warsaw, oh oh
you're the phoenix from the ashes
breaking through the crashes
Warsaw

2) Regarded as the cold and cruel
to me you smell of youth
Sometimes the things have gone so wrong
you made my wings grow strong

You are not perfect as anyone else
but you gave me a chance

Chorus: Warsaw...

Bridge:
You told me how to take the risk of living
you taught me how to never ever give in
You brought me so much inspirations
I'm missin every street and bus stations

Playing Gruau and classic

Some recent illustrations for various class projects. I have been recently exploring many vintage techniques, inspired by old fashion illustration books.
I think ink (rhyme!) works well with my style - but then again I don't want to give up my pencil draiwngs. I was recommended by my tutor illustrator Sue Dray to explore many techniques and try to mix them - since as she claimed I am naturally very talented and I can go for various styles. :)

I have been busy with music lately a lot... but finally one of my dreams came true - I recorded my demo! :) Now further polish ups are being made and I'll be ready for next big moves. The final effect is going to be AMAZING.

In a meanwhile I did my first international commission for Spindle Magazine (London fashion mag) of YAAKS band. What a lovely mix of music and illustration - what I love most in life!

Toxicated

I know this is the blog with my illustrations, but it's good to remind you I am also a passionate musician :) Since I somehow cannot publish my lyrics on myspace, I am doing it here. These are the lyrics to one of my newest song "Toxicated". I think they're ones of those most powerful I've written.

Listen to it here!

1) He toxicated me at night
slid lightly to my bed
kissed gently all my life
Will I live? Will I live? Will I live?
Woke up with boiling blood in veins
with fever in my heart
and I'm still wondering ah
Will I live? Will I live? Will I live?
Hey doctor tell me please right now
is there a cure for lover's vow?
Everybody tells me no
"Just don't meet him again
just get away from him
you will live, you will live, you will live"
But I am stubborn like before
is it the power of the strong -
or is it wrong?
Chorus:
Running away from senses
Chasing you like a fool
I don't know where you're getting at
I cannot stop you
Someday we'll be together
even if it's my dream
nothing else coming to my mind
you toxicated me

2) He toxicated me with words
and his warm gentle moves
Oh will I ever lose
Will I live? Will I live? Will I live?
You should be worried 'bout my strength
can't you see Im losing my health
mental health

Chorus: Running away from senses...

Bridge:
My heart is stronger than you
My soul is fighting with you

Story singing.

I know I haven't been very active on my blog lately, but it's all because of my other passion - music. I have been busy with my upcoming demo (which I will start recording next week), personal concerts and taking part in a music tv show "Voice of Poland". Here's my very musical piece of artwork - a delicate self-portrait on my music poster (the basis - it lacks the info about date etc). If you're interested in my musical soul - check out my myspace. The songs there are just a preview, but gives the right expectation of what my demo will be like. At the beginning of September everything should be available and polished to hear :)

Baltona - Bluszcz magazine 06.2011

An illustration to a column by famous polish movie director J. Machulski.
The sailor is the symbol of an old-school duty free shop "Baltona", which was very popular during the communism times in Poland. The director tells the story, how he had to make 10 ad clips in a few days for this brand. One of them was in a form of a spontaneous interview, where random pedestrians were asked: "What does "Baltona" remind you of?" - and this is what's written in the right corner.

Unfortunately I had to change the illustration into horizontal one: the first version looked like this:

Movie queens

This is my entry for a prestigous graphic contest GrafEx.
I picked a category to create a triple portrait of chosen actors (out of 6). So here are Marlene Dietrich, Elizabeth Taylor and Lindsay Lohan.
The piece is very minimal, because I wanted to focus on the characters and the message about the queens.
Please wish me luck!!! :)

"Lubię, kiedy kobieta..."

Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer is a classic, Polish poet. An illustration for a campaign promoting classic writers, who are supposed to be "taken" to modern times. Here - with a coffee to go :) More about the campaign: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wolni-pisarze-Wolne-pisarki/188565994515789
Underneath it's written "I'm single, let's meet on the internet". It refers to the campaign's publishing famous writers' works on internet for free.

Lady Zapolska

It's the entry poster-portrait of a Polish classic writer Gabriela Zapolska for a contest. She lived in the 19th century, so I wanted to get the A. Mucha's epoque effect.

"Migration dilemmas" - 04/2011 Bluszcz magazine

My debut illustration at a literary Polish magazine "Bluszcz". It's about an article by a well-known Polish movie director, who describes various aspects of immigration and how it can reflect a director's artwork.
